Scott Whiteley

“While I may be in the insurance business, I’m really in the business of changing people’s lives through personal development. My drive comes from the desire to help others, not sell. I strive to make a genuine connection with my clients and help them change their lives for the better.” ~Scott Whiteley

Scott Whiteley began his insurance career in 2004. He built his firm, Honor Insurance, on the values he demonstrates in his personal life: faith, family, honesty, hard work and genuine care for others. He knew that if he focused on serving others that he could help improve the lives of those in his community by sharing his knowledge of finance and insurance.

Always conducting his work with a servant’s heart, Scott has an open-door policy and strives to return every call before leaving at the end of the day. He listens to his clients and then offers strategies designed to help protect their assets, create a legacy, mitigate taxes and generate a guaranteed income stream in retirement.

Scott was raised in the late 60s, 70s and 80s with the traditional American values of working hard, treating people right, always being honest, never quitting, and knowing right from wrong. He credits his dad and granddad for raising him right and instilling those foundational values in him at an early age.

Prior to getting in this business, Scott was employed as a logger, construction worker, mill worker and fishing guide. He also served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked with his hands to make a living until the age of 43 and lived paycheck-to-paycheck, like most American’s do and can relate to. He realized he wanted to explore a different career path that would allow him to help others by tending to their financial lives. All these years later, Scott is an insurance professional and many of his clients also lean on him as a personal development mentor, or “hard knock” life coach as he often jokes.

Scott is licensed to sell life insurance in Oregon, Washington, California, South Dakota, Colorado and Arizona. He has traveled all over the USA to attend classes, workshops and seminars to learn business the right way. He enjoys down at kitchen tables with families, hearing their stories and offering an approach that fits their needs best.

Scott is married to his wife Kim and they have three Labs—Hank, Bella and Tucker. They also have a miniature poodle named Cooper who identifies as a Lab. Scott spends his free time with his wife and pups, attending church, hiking, fishing, hunting, backpacking and camping in the wilderness back country of Oregon. He also enjoys fishing for salmon, Steelhead, crab and clam around Oregon and in the great Pacific Ocean.
